HMRC issues PAYE reminder
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has reminded employers of the importance of submitting their PAYE end-of-year returns by 19 May.
Failure to do so could result in a penalty charge.
Employers with fewer than 50 employees can file either on paper or online. If, however, they submit their returns electronically, they will get £100 tax-free for doing so.
Don Macarthur, head of HMRC’s employer team, urged employers to send their returns as soon as possible: “Don’t leave it to the last minute. Get your employer return in now, and beat the 19 May deadline.”
